Our quarterly update, in which we continue to develop and adapt to these current unprecedented challenges.

Our quarterly update looks at the unprecedented challenges faced by the charitable sector. In this quarter we have:

  • Reviewed which charities that we will support in the Big Give Christmas Challenge.
  • Finalised the list of recommended Environmental charities to be offered via Tythe – the new donations platform that we are developing.
  • Continued to develop our analysis, particularly in three areas:Governance: we now gather much more information about trustees (e.g. gender, age, dates appointed) and the way in which the board functions
Finances: we are looking closely at the sustainability of income streams, especially in such a challenging environment. Sadly, many charities will not survive.
Impact: we continue to refine the metrics that we use to help understand better the effectiveness of charities we support.

The EQ Foundation

Since its formation in late 2014, The EQ Foundation has awarded more than £1 million in grants to a wide range of charitable and non-profit institutions. Our focus has been primarily on UK charities supporting education and employment for people from disadvantaged backgrounds. This reflects our desire to see social mobility improved.

A list of current grantees can be found on the Giving is Great website.
