The EQ Foundation presents: ‘Prevention or Cure’

What’s the most effective solution for helping young people on the margins of society into fulfilling lives?

Although our country has never been richer, the opportunities for children from troubled backgrounds are not improving. In our last event looking at strains in our society we discussed the disturbing issue of County Lines, whereby young people are attracted into becoming couriers for drug dealers.

In our next event we’ll hear from two charities that seem to be achieving great results from helping young people achieve stability in an increasingly competitive world.

The Spear Programme [1] provided by Resurgo has already helped over 5,000 unemployed young people in the past decade, more than 75% of whom reach full time employment or further education. Tom Jackson (founder & CEO) will tell us why the programme works so well. He’ll also interview a recent Spear graduate now employed by EQ.

Louisa Mitchell is CEO of the ground breaking charity West London Zone. [2] Their objective is to spot vulnerable young people early and provide support carefully tailored to their needs. It is funded by innovative schemes linked to the success of the programmes.

Join us for what should be a fascinating evening.
