A fixed income fund that invests in a broad range of bonds and fixed-income assets.
The Blackrock Fixed Income Global Opportunities fund is agnostic to any fixed income benchmark and hence invests globally across all fixed income markets. It is seen as a best ideas fund generated by the massive fixed income research team within Blackrock. The three portfolio managers are responsible for assessing the direction, the level and trajectory of global economic growth and inflation, then translating this into implications for fiscal and monetary policy and their subsequent implications for asset valuation and risk taking. This governs how they allocate risk to each fixed income team within the portfolio.
We like the fund for its unconstrained approach and its more defensive qualities when compared to peers. This gives us exposure to fixed income markets in the US and to segments of the market that are typically not covered by more traditional “flexible bond” managers, such as mortgages and structured credit.
