EQ Investors (EQ), the boutique wealth manager led by John Spiers, has published a new guide for private investors. The guide sets out some of the most common investment pitfalls, and offers practical guidance on effective ways to prevent or deal with them.

Amongst the topics examined are the impact of human nature, investment scams, inadequate diversification, not facing up to losses and failing to rebalance.

John Spiers, Chief Executive at EQ, said: “We are committed to helping people understand the key issues that surround major financial decisions. This guide, the first in a new series, spells out common investment mistakes that can harm investment returns. I made plenty of these myself early in my career!”
