Jim is a portfolio manager at Miton, focusing on infrastructure equities. Prior to joining the group, he spent 10 years running a £1bn infrastructure mandate at British Steel pension fund, gaining significant experience in the sector. Before starting his investment career, he worked at Arthur Andersen within their audit function, where he qualified as a chartered accountant. After working in equity research on the sell side for Lehman Brothers, he worked for M&G and GAM before joined British Steel in 2003. Jim has an MA in History from the University of Cambridge, and is a CFA charterholder.
Miton is a UK-based asset manager with £3.8bn under management (as of December 2017). The business has a history dating back to 1986 and was rebranded from MAM Funds plc in January 2013. The Miton Group plc is traded on the AIM market of the UK and employs 51 staff, of which 13 are investment professionals. As a fund group, Miton manages a range of vehicles including open and closed ended funds, being awarded the mandate to run one of the oldest funds still in existence – The Investment Company – in 2013.
