Give more, for less: how EQ Matched Giving works

Raising money for a cause you care about isn't always easy. EQ Matched Giving is designed to make it easier; by helping you turn every pound your supporters give into significantly more for the charity you're backing.

How it works

If you’re taking on a challenge for charity, whether that’s a local run, a bike ride or something more ambitious, EQ will match donations made by your supporters.

Combined with Gift Aid and, in some cases, an Income Tax rebate for your supporters, a single donation can be worth far more than its original value.

Here’s how it adds up:

  • A friend sponsors you for £100.
  • Gift Aid increases that to £128.
  • EQ’s matched donation increases it to £228.

If that supporter pays tax at 45%, they can reclaim a further £31.25, bringing their net cost down to £68.75 for a £228 donation to the charity, an increase of 231%.

For a 40% taxpayer, the rebate is £25, resulting in a net cost of £75 and an increase of 204%.

How to apply

We’ve kept the process simple:

  1. Read the terms and conditions, available here.
  2. Download the application form, available available here.
  3. Complete the form and email it back to us at: eqgiving@eqinvestors.co.uk.

Once approved, you can share the news with your supporters and let them know their donation will go further.

Beyond matched giving

Matched giving sits alongside the wider work of The EQ Foundation, which has donated over £2 million to charitable and non-profit organisations since 2005.
