How does a business know when it is thriving and successful? You might look at profits, but for us that just isn’t enough. We want to create positive change. We recognise that as a small business, what we can achieve by ourselves is limited. Our greatest opportunity is to make change by collaborating with others.
And that is why, in 2015, EQ Investors (EQ) became one of the first B Corporations in the UK. For those of you who haven’t heard of “B Corps”, we are a community of purpose driven companies worldwide, trying to do business the right way. Every decision that we make is made with all our stakeholders in mind, from what kind of paper supplier we use, to our employment policies, to investing in our community.

As a B Corp, we have made a legally binding commitment to manage the business using the triple bottom line: Profit, People, and the Planet. Sound financial management is crucial, but we want our business to be more than a profit-generating machine, we want it to benefit everyone who interacts with EQ.
B Corp certification turns the ambiguous concepts of “going green” or “being a good corporate citizen” into something tangible and measurable that people can identify, trust, and support.
Learning and collaborating
For those of you who want to learn more, every year during March the global B Corp Community celebrate what it means to be a B Corp. This B Corp Month, the We Go Beyond campaign will present to the world the community of businesses who go beyond the harmful status quo and take action to transform the economic system.
It will invite people to understand why and how B Corps have chosen to pursue a more impactful path. It will showcase that B Corp Certification isn’t just a mark; it’s a global movement of companies and people going beyond business as usual to make their mark on the world.
