Future Leaders annual report: low cost, no compromise

Low cost and responsible investing can go hand in hand. Our annual Future Leaders report shows how the portfolio delivers on both.

Our annual Future Leaders report is now available. It shows how the portfolio continues to deliver on its two founding principles: consistent, market-like returns and a genuinely responsible investment approach. Neither is negotiable, and neither comes at the expense of the other.

Low cost by design

Keeping your costs low isn’t an afterthought. It’s core to how Future Leaders is built. The portfolio is designed to compete with the lowest-cost propositions in the industry, so more of your money stays invested and working for you.

Why stewardship still matters in passive investing

There’s a common misconception that stewardship matters less in passive, low-cost funds. It doesn’t. Passive managers hold voting rights too, and how they use them can enable or block meaningful change. Through our stewardship and engagement strategy, your capital gives us real influence with the companies and managers we invest with on your behalf.

Holding firm on responsible investing

Many companies are redrawing the boundaries of what strong governance looks like, often diluting their commitments in the process. We haven’t. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors remain at the heart of how we manage your portfolio, because we believe the businesses genuinely building a better world are best placed to deliver superior returns over the long term.

What’s in the report

The report sets out how this conviction works in practice, including how Future Leaders compares with other low-cost responsible strategies on carbon emissions, negative exposures and UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) alignment.
